About a month ago, the ReInHerit H2020 published a very informative webinar on

Collaboration in digital heritage: networks, resources, and digital strategies development

The presenter, Ass. Prof. Chiara Zuanni, introduced the main points that one needs to take into account when developing a sustainable digital strategy for museums. Her presentation goes over the topics:

  1. Why develop a digital strategy
  2. How to start
  3. What to include
  4. How to evaluate it
  5. Where to find more resources

She focused on the process of digitizing collections and fostering digital engagements, emphasizing why this is important according to current European policies as well. I cannot over-recommend the webinar, which you can access here!

How Wihi has supported us building education ecosystems

The annual IT days of Finnish HEIs was held this year in Lahti on the joint campus of LAB University of Applied Sciences and LUT University. The days offered a wide range of presentations on current IT topics with the theme “IT with a purpose”, bringing together around 500 IT professionals from higher education institutions, from management to support staff from all the corners of Finland. During the first day of the event, I gave a presentation about how Finland can use learning technologies to support building education ecosystems. Supporting education ecosystem building with digitalisation

In October 21st 2022, I had the honour to attend the panel discussion Embracing digitalisation to improve the sustainable delivery of education and training in Africa in ADEA Trennale 2022. My topic was focused on how digitalisation can support building education ecosystems. The ADEA Triennale is one of Africa’s high-level forums for political dialogue on education. The conference focuses on critical themes that transform Africa’s educational systems for sustainable social and economic development.

Below you find my contribution to the panel session based on the Recommendation Paper written in collaboration with Dr. Altti Lagstedt during the Edupreneurs project.

Research experiences during the pandemic

Eduix participated in the X International Symposium on Research, organized by the Colombian Association of Higher Education Institutions with Professional Technical, Technological or University training (ACIET). The event happened from 29th September until 1st October and addressed the theme “Research Experiences in the Age of Pandemic”. In the event, Eduix presented how our edtech solutions has helped Finnish Higher Education Institutions (HEI) continue running their research endeavors during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The paradigm shift in education

From a global perspective, we all know that many HEIs have faced increased dropout rates due to students’ financial difficulties and inefficient virtual learning environments in the past year. Nevertheless, HEIs with the the appropriate virtual tools were able to keep educational processes running online (synchronous and asynchronous), identify students at risk and retain them, maintain staff efficiency, reduce costs, and attract more students.
